Tax Purpose

For Ankit and Nimisha Kamdar, Tax Purpose was built on a belief that navigating tax and accounting should feel straightforward, not stressful — especially for migrant families and first-generation business owners who are often managing these responsibilities without a local support network.

Ankit grew up in Gujarat, India, and began his career as a certified diamond grader before a move to Australia prompted a complete reinvention. He completed a Masters in Accounting and Financial Management at La Trobe University, became a registered tax agent and CPA, and founded Tax Purpose in 2011 out of a desire to offer practical, personalised accounting support to his local community in Melbourne's east.

Nimisha, his co-founder and wife, brings a different but complementary background to the business. A qualified Automation Engineer and CPA, she co-leads Tax Purpose with a strong focus on trust, integrity, and getting things right for clients. Outside of the firm, Nimisha is also the Treasurer of the Maroondah Indian Community — a role that reflects the same commitment to community and sound stewardship that runs through everything she and Ankit have built.

Today, Tax Purpose serves individuals and businesses across Melbourne's eastern suburbs from their Croydon office, and sits alongside sister brands Loan Purpose and Property Purpose to offer clients support across tax, lending, and property in one trusted network.
